NACS establishing rehabilitation and mental health services
NACS is establishing inclusive rehabilitation and integrative mental health services of refugees and immigrants, particularly Africans in Minnesota. NACS is dedicated to combat, through education, information dissemination, and community advocacy and outreach, against all forms of prejudice, social stigma and traditional superstitious beliefs associated with having or disclosing a mental illness in African cultures. NACS is committed to contribute to Minnesota mental health, rehabilitative services, and independent living skills from an innovative and creative multicultural perspective. NACS is committed to the ongoing professional growth, lifelong learning, and cooperation with others in order to creatively adjust and smoothly adapt better ways to provide mental health services to African immigrants.
NACS goal is 3 Cs:
- Communication (culturally-appropriate)
- Cooperation
- Cost-reduction.
