New Americans Community Employment Services
NACS offers its clients an unbeatable combination of accessible and knowledgable counselors, quality client services, free transportation, one on one attention and a welcoming environment. It's all part of preparing them to achieve self sufficiency.
Clients access career and employment services through one of three process:
- Client-Initiated Contact: Occurs when a client comes into the NACS office on his or her own motivation, seeking such things as assistance in securing full-or part-time employment help, help in creating a resume, job search counseling, information regarding employment trends and/or employer literature.
- Agency Referral: MFIP and other employment counselors from agencies refer clients to NACS.
- Recruitment-Initiated Contact: Occurs when NACS staff reach out to recruit clients and offer assistance.
Employment Services at NACS include:
- "Job Success" Workshop- a 20 hour pre-employment workshop with multi-lingual employment counselors to assist with customized job search, job interviews, job training, and post employment follow up.
- Job Finding Club-a supportive and empowering program that assists serious job seekers to take charge of their job search. The group setting offers peer support and networking opportunities in a positive learning environment.
